Larry Alex Taunton (born 1967) is an American cultural commentator, columnist, and contributor to The Atlantic. A frequent television and radio guest, he has appeared on CNN, CNN International, Fox News, and BBC. Mr. Taunton has been quoted by Rush Limbaugh, The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, TIME, Vanity Fair, and NPR, among others. His book The Grace Effect offers a glimpse of what the world would look like without Christian influence. Mr. Taunton is also the founder and executive director of the Fixed Point Foundation. In that role he has organized or chaired debates on science, religion, and ethics at Trinity College, Oxford University; The Edinburgh International Festival; the Melbourne Town Hall in Melbourne, Australia; Princeton University; and the Oxford Museum of Natural History. In 2009 Mr. Taunton publicly debated friend and atheist, Christopher Hitchens. Taunton was born at Fort Benning, Georgia. He currently divides his time between the United States and Europe. He and his wife have four children.

Ben Halbrooks

A native of Birmingham, Ben Halbrooks serves as Fixed Point’s Creative Media Director. He decided to join a Fixed Point Bible study on a lark while still in high school. Ben's involvement with Fixed Point progressed from there to volunteer, and then to that of intern. He graduated with honors from Rhodes College in 2007, where he studied Biology and Film and then joined our staff on a full time basis. His job entails everything from maintaining the website to editing film for Fixed Point productions. Ben is talented artistically and enjoys producing his own short films in his spare time. Some are even worth watching.

Mike Murphy

Mike Murphy volunteers with Fixed Point as a Sales and Marketing Consultant. He also acts as Larry's literary agent. Mike is a graduate of Auburn University and the University of Alabama School of Law. He and his wife Lindsay have four great kids and live in Birmingham.

Michael Taunton

Michael Taunton has been a part of Fixed Point Foundation in one capacity or another all of his life. The son of Fixed Point's executive director, Michael reflects a lot of his father's interests. He graduated with high honors from Samford University where he earned a degree in classical history, languages, and literature, and then received his J.D. from Yale Law School. Michael is an attorney at Balch & Bingham LLP and serves as General Counsel for Fixed Point.
