Consider this article from Christianity Today, in which the author voices concerns with evangelistic efforts that seem to be outside of “Biblical boundaries.” Specifically, the author is concerned about a new mode of evangelism that encourages “converted” Muslims (1) to continue practicing Islam, and (2) to identify themselves as Muslims, just as “Muslims who follow Jesus.” At the core of these evangelistic efforts lies the assumption that there is little or no difference between Islam and Christianity.

But do such missionary efforts compromise key aspects (if not the very heart) of the Gospel? Can a person actually follow Jesus and remain a Muslim?
