Coming out of last week’s “In the Beginning: A Conference on the Days of Creation” (available for pre-order here), it seems appropriate to highlight this review from the Christian Post of Oxford Professor John Lennox’s upcoming book on the Genesis creation. The interface between Genesis and modern science remains a touchy subject greatly open to debate even among Bible-believing Christians as last week’s conference demonstrated. And though Lennox’s book probably will not answer every conceivable question, he makes a powerful case for Christians to re-examine Genesis with an open mind to discover what the text itself does and does not say. Questions will still be around for a very long time (probably always), but with thinkers like Lennox to spearhead the discussion and open our minds to Scripture’s sophistication, there is at least hope that we will not fall prey to intellectual and spiritual stagnation.
